Little Ironies...

I heard a track over the radio the other day.. found it catchy the first time and crappy the next, only to later LOVE it, when a dear friend pointed out a part of the track that i totally missed.
These are the lines that describe the BIGGEST urban phobia we all are consumed by.

Atleast, I am.

Read this :

All we've ever wanted,
Is to look good naked.
Hope that someone can take it..
God save me rejection.
From my reflection,
I want perfection!

This part had me sitting awe-struck, its like my mental state defined in words, everytime I look at myself in the mirror, everytime I'm ordering for that Salad, Everytime I think of my Imprefections... and they are countless!

And then there is Ella Fitzgerald crooning about her Funny Valentine :

My funny Valentine, sweet comic Valentine,
you make me smile with my heart.
Your looks are laughable, unphotographable.
Yet, you´re my fav´rite work of art.
Is your figure less than Greek ?
Is your mouth a little weak ?
When you open it to speak, are you smart ?
But don´t change a hair for me, not if you care for me.
Stay little Valentine, stay ! Each day is Valentine´s day.

With all my heart, I want to believe in every word that Ella sings, but I know there's nothing that can shake the former words out of my head.

Sad but True... I wan't perfection!

Much love,

It's really true.
I constantly claim to 'love my body' and have had every boyfriend I've had verbalize their love for it yet, everytime I'm getting ready for a shower, standing next to a girlfriend who is super gorge, or trying on new clothes I just can't help wishing I'd done those extra 10 squats at the gym.

Great post, doll.

What a lovely post! I love this...the thought of it..

But sometimes when we're occupied enough, we forget the need for perfection!
